RNP approach runway 27 Iraklion Airport (HER LGIR)
A lovely sunny morning towards Iraklion. Most common approach is towards runway 27. Previously it was always the VOR approach, but nowadays they also have a RNP approach towards runway 27. Once landed we had to vacate at "A" intersection. This was due to the fact that another aircraft made a wrong turn at the apron.
Important to note is that this film is shot prior the 14th of februari 2024. From this date on we are not allowed to use suction cups in the cockpit due to the possible damage it could give to the window. (At the end of this film... the exact date and registration of the aircraft).

This the long awaited landing on Brussels Airport (BRU EBBR). We were fortunate enough to land on Runway 07L. A runway with no ILS arrival, but a VOR approach instead. Since the VOR is in front of Runway 07R we have to perform a 15 degrees offset approach towards runway 07L. Last upload of 2023! I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did during this flight! Each year there are some interesting flights which we fly for Voigt Travel. Just a quick question, in bad conditions do you always handfly to the runway if you have visibility? btw this landing is smooth as hell!
Coming from Iceland, I live in a town called Husavik, some 50km east of Akureyri and a frequent flier from Akureyri Airport. It´s a beautiful approach and very scenic in good conditions. This airport is notoriously hazardous in strong winter weathers and sudden downdrafts caused by these mountains, mainly from approach from the south. I´ve been in very strong turbulence in old Fokker 50 planes and Jetstream 32 planes landing there and that is a RIDE :D When was this taken? I would guess during early spring (march/april) guessing by the snow?

Me again after 3 years😅 Flown many times into Kalamata for holidays in Gialova, Pylos. I think ever time except once, we have weaved through the mountains and then over flown the airport before turning and landing from the south.

Reactions: Where in the world does this channel NOT go? Iceland to some tiny Mediterranean island. And to a place that wouldn't seem to me to have a ton of flyers coming. That control tower is the shortest I've ever seen on aviation TV. I bet some of the planes are more regional types.
Of course one of my greatest destinations, nice approach en smooth landing. I instantly had the urge to go to Crete again... ...but what about the music at the end... felt like I was standing in a elevator... and it sounded false too hahaha. Thanks for the upload, it was enjoyable anyway!

Is rnp the same as ils?
No completely different. ILS uses "radio frequencies"... RNP uses GPS ILS is more accurate, but ILS is more expensive for an airport.
Over paar dagen stap ik na jaren weer eens het vliegtuig in. 25 jaar geleden een mega noodlanding moeten maken. N.a.v. een lekkend hydraulisch systeem. Het zit nog op mijn netvlies. Daarna vliegangst gekregen. Mijn zoon raadde mij dit account aan. Hopelijk helpt dit bij mijn angst. We gaan het zien. ❤
Enorm jammer dat je zo'n ervaring hebt gehad. Ik denk dat hierbij wat meer uitleg over wat er precies gebeurd was misschien wel handig geweest zou zijn. Weet dat alle systemen minimaal 2 tot 3 backups hebben voordat een bepaald systeem ermee stopt. Daar worden wij (de piloten) erg vaak op getraind in de simulator. Dus hoewel het in praktijk gelukkig bijna nooit gebeurd, is de gedachte dat we het regelmatig trainen misschien wel een fijne gedachte. Ik heb (zoals je zoon misschien ook tegen gezegd heeft) wel vaak positive reacties gekregen van mensen met vliegangst. Zelfs dat ze weer zijn gaan vliegen na het kijken van mijn filmpjes. Dus ik hoop dat je dit gaat helpen. Heel veel succes en veel toekomstig vliegplezier! ;-) Groet, Michaël

Het is mooi om te zien hoe alles gaat in de flightdeck opeens moeten er zoveel acties tegerlijkertijd gebeuren en daarom heb je gewoon een 2 mans bezetting in de cockpit nodig dankjewel voor deze prachtige video voor mij bekend terein vlieg met regelmaat naar LGIR maar as sept laat ik me vliegen naar LGRP helaas met OR vanwege mijn beschikbare tijd gepland is met een gehuurde Tui kist A 321 airbus ook een practig vliegtuig En nu gaat beetje bij beetje ook met dit type vliegen mooi hoor greets Ed v Ijmuiden

Gorgeous approach and landing as always captain. Just a quick doubt regarding the interection point of the rw. When you were vacating the rw, Atc told you to cleared it asap, and you stopped just at the interection point markings. I thought that the whole aircraft had to be beyond those markings to be considered out of the runway but looks like i was wrong. Always looking forward to learn something new :)
